Meet our Tribe

After learning about our sanctuary, William’s dad travelled nine hours to meet us. William quickly bonded with Finn, and with heavy hearts and deep respect for his dad’s selfless choice, we welcomed William into the sanctuary. .

Now a much-loved resident, William is often found sitting quietly, watching the horses.

Minnie

Minnie's journey from a $50 purchase at a rural auction, where her condition left her without any bids, was uncertain. With doubts about her surviving the 5-hour drive home, her fate hung in the balance. Petrified of men, spirited in her handling, and distant from equine companions, Minnie was quite a challenge.

Fast forward and Minnie is a transformed pony. Taking her role of protecting Huey, her stable mate, to heart, she's retained her spice but blossomed into a sweetie pie.

With constant care and a specialised diet, Luna pulled through. Today, she is thriving and happily follows our flock around the property.

Chocolate & Chip

Chocolate & Chip

Inheriting two little ones born into the goat dairy industry was unexpected, but we embraced the role of bottle-feeding parents. Now, at the heart of the sanctuary, these sweethearts have become visitor favorites. Their nurturing instincts kick in as guardians to new arrivals, especially lambs.

It's heartening to see such natural caregivers in action!

Huey

Huey’s young life changed in an instant when he unexpectedly woke during a routine gelding procedure. In the attempt to safely sedate him, his delicate neck was injured, resulting in two fractured vertebrae.

When we heard his story, we stepped in to give him the time and care he needed to heal

Today, Huey is full of cheek and zest for life—rolling in the mud, stealing hats, and tipping wheelbarrows. His mischievous spirit is a joyful reminder of his resilience.

Olive, Rose & Crystal

Olive, Rose, and Crystal entered this world with ties to the food industry, their lives limited to a few months but were given a second change in life by finding their way to us.

Together with their much-loved Chocolate & Chip, they formed a tight little family.

Finn

Finn was found on the streets, and his behavioral challenges made rehoming difficult. Our vets later confirmed he was around 13, facing skin and prostate cancer, arthritis, and the stress of shelter life.

With palliative care, Finn now enjoys a calm, safe haven—sharing time with sheep and goats, watching the birds, and following his nose
