About Masons Promise Sanctuary

 Mason, the resilient senior Boxer, inspired the birth of our sanctuary and our focus on the forgotten.

Living the metropolitan life in Melbourne with two Boxers and a Husky, when on an ordinary Tuesday morning, a photo of pleading brown eyes on a euthanasia list reached us. Within three hours, Mason became a part of our lives. The detailed vet handover revealed an emaciated and tortured, senior Boxer. 

Witnessing Mason's incredible transformation resonated deeply, the calling to make a difference in the lives of animals became evident, and we decided to embark on a completely different journey together. 

 Taking a bold leap, we sold everything, sealed the deal on acreage via FaceTime during Covid lockdown, and rolled up with moving trucks to a property we weren't entirely sure would be the perfect fit. 

 Mason embraced country life effortlessly, and for 10 months, he witnessed the launch of a sanctuary created in his honour. A haven that echoed the promises we made to him when he first arrived home—that safety and sanctuary would be a constant presence. 

 Choosing to channel our care towards those who need a safe haven the most, we honed in on seniors, palliative cases, and those who have faced mistreatment. It's heartbreaking that the most fragile often receive the least help, but it fuels our commitment to being their home. Patience, support, and care become paramount for these beautiful souls, and providing that refuge is a mission close to our hearts 

 Mason, our resilient inspiration, lost his battle with pancreatitis in 2022. In his honour, we laid him to rest among the gum trees, on a slice of heaven that his spirit had inspired. His legacy lives on in every corner of the sanctuary.

We hope to inspire adoption for those  who are older, frail, maybe missing a limb, those scared and shy. They have not given up, they just need you. And maybe you just need them too.
